im havin a problem, and was wonderin if ya could help. I have a 95 eclipse gs. and as i accel the engine sputters, and its always around 5k rpms, i started noticing it when i went to pass someone. (btw its a stick shift) so i checked it, and it does it everytime, when i hit 5k rpm the tach drops to around 3k rpms throwing me forward, and lossing power then heads back up to 5k if i hold the gas and repeats. and just tonight comming home from work it did it at 3k 3.5k and so on, as i accel-ed. throwing me back and forth, then the check engine light comes on. see as i drive it when iget close to 5k and feel the car slow down i let off gas and shift, but if i hold the gas and try to pass 5k it will jump back and forth and then the chk engine light comes one for day or to. about 2 months ago i was doing it all the time while i acellerated so i popped the hood and it turned out my inigition wires were sparking thru the wire to my metal insulator making it short out. so i bought new ones and it stopped now its doing it but on at those certain rpms... Help!! is it fuel releated? sensor related? thx
