I just installed 200 dollar alpine 6x9 in my 2001 galant. I bought a new alpine head unit as well.
I orginally had the infiniti system in my ES. I am dissapointed in the sound of the new gear. Does anybody know what model speaker are in the doors? Does anyone have any recommendations of what to put in the doors? Also, the front dash speaker blew and i cannot find a replacement anywhere? is that a special speaker? most places are telling me to order it from the dealer.. thanks in advance..this is frustrating!

i blew out the dash speaker in my 99 GTZ, only place you will get it from is the dealer - i work at a car dealer so my cost is cost plus 10% (whereas a normal customer maybe cost + 40%) and i think the speaker was $99..so im guessing $130 or so at a dealer..or just find a 3 inch round speaker from alpine and mount it yourself

i have a 00 galant, how do i remove the back deck so that i can replace those worn out 6x9's

Thats a good question, i got an 02' Galant, I just put in a 2x 10" Rockford Punches with my factory infinty system...don't get me wrong, it sounds damn good....I didnt even replace the head unit, I have the stock infinity head unit connected. I still have my factory infinity amp under my passenger seat powering my interior infinity speakers, and i have a performance teknique amp under my driver seat powering my subs in the truck.....but how do you get to the stock infinity speakers in the rear deck? Funny that you guys say this because i believe my 3'' speaker on my dash blew as well.

i just got an 02 galant gtz thursday, and the front dash speaker was blown as well..i haven't had time to look into it, but i know there are at least 3 infinity dealers i know of around me and i'll probably go looking tomorrow. so is it just a normal 3" speaker?

you have to take the back set out, then take the plastic trim off the rear pillars
