Hi, anyone done a SOHC to DOHC swap? What is necessary?

no its not necessary. SOHC is fine. the way that some people think about it, SOHC is better. less moving parts that could mess up. also, the difference in the two isn't all that great.

he is talking the new 06 eclipse i think, and the way I understand it is single cam creates less drag since it only has 1 cam so it has 1 less parts to move. and I always thought that single cam heads were a lil stronger

it involves replacing the head. do you need it? not really.

ya but a doch head moves alot more air and is able to spool a turbo a bit quicker... but i get what your saying for what this kid is doing its proly not needed at all.

N\A or low boost I dont see the point honestly.

with a nt car sohc is better look at t/as and camaros wit the ls1s and lt1s

Ya um they are deff dont have over head cams... theres these things call push rods...

A 4g64 is in no way compariable to a ls1. The only thing that they have incommon is that they are internal cumbstion motor. The ls1 is a freek motor, its all alunimum performance motor with an aweseom tuned ecu(its purpous is to be a performance n/a motor) where the 4g64 is a iron block gas efficent daily driver motor.
