Spyder -> Timing belt (5/8/2004 6:05:21 PM)

Hello everyone. I need to get the timing belt done for my sister's 2001 Montero. Does anyone know a good place to go in Atlanta besides a dealer? I think $600 for timing belt without water pump is ridiculous, plus another $500 for 60K is just absurd. Any recommendations would be very very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I feel your pain. If you know, would you please explain why the timing belt for the 2001 montero is more than double the price of the one for the montero sport with the same 3.5L engine? Are there any differences in the belts other than price. Most places don't even list a timing belt for the 2001 montero but they list the montero as haveing the same engine as the sport with the 3.5L V6.

Thanks, DJ
