Mike21 -> Inline 4 or V6 (1/5/2006 8:02:10 AM)

Whats up guys? I just wanted to know what you guys like better as far as 4 cylinders or V6 engines and why. In school, I'm the only guy with an Evolution VIII. Everybody else has muscle cars and they all try to gang up on me and we always have big arguements on which engines are better as far as an I4 or V6/V8. I need some good points to bring up so I could shut theese rustang, I mean mustang drivers up. Just know that I'm holding it down for Mitsu though. Thanks ..... Mike

I4's are mostly economic engines, V6/V8 are gas guzzlers. V6/V8's have more displacement than I4 obviously. But the main factor is I4's are way lighter[:D] remember bigger isnt always better.

if they eer say ur engine still sux juss tell em that atleast its the strongest I4 engine in the US.

I4 in the EVO stock bottom end is good for 500+HP best outtof mostly all I4s. I also have an EVO and when I had just a boost controller I was smokeing mustangs hardcore from a stop....just tell them how your EVO bone stock would beat the piss out of there cars on a autoX or oad course that is what the EVO is made for not a sraight line oh and how about making 400+ HP at the wheels and stll getting 20MPG

EMonz57 -> RE: Inline 4 or V6 (1/5/2006 6:29:29 PM)

BTW it is the strongest I4 we have the next inline with it is acutally the SRT4 motor both are very strong

Being that I have an SRT I can atest to the strength of the motor

they are very well built, I wont lie even though I dont like the SRT but that is my opinion only. The SRT and EVO are 2 of the storgest 4 cyl motors out there right now. I dont know of any other I4 that can take on what these 2 can

Even the STi also being a 4 cyl, a horozontal 4 to be specific. It's not as strong right, as far as I know, subys 2.5 flat 4 turbocharged came out just a few years ago while the 4G63 was out for 12+ yrs.

The STis motor is very weak it will crack pistons after a few bolton modds. they go out when you reach near 400WHP. the 2.5L only came out in 03 it was prior the 2.0L H4 i guess it is. the JDM STi was only a 2.0 with forged pistons so JDMs are strong but the US model was not made as well.
