Well I have heard rumor that in 99 they fixed it but I really dont know about that. Only the 2G can develop crankwalk.

Dont worry too much about crankwalk cause it dont happen to too many 2g's. And as far as ive heard it could happen to any of them.

any of the 2Gs not the 1Gs, it is the 7 Bolt that was prone to walk often

OMG why are poeple insisting they know the answer when they dont!!! The 2G or 7-bolt was well know for a major RECALL for incorrectly machining the oil journels and squirters which resulted in the motor crank walking. It all really depends on how the car is driving. Some lucky few will never have the problem. 8 out 10 2G that I have worked on or been around had a sign or crank walked. Like EMonz said The 7-BOLT motor which was mostly in the SECOND generation.

Read the goddamn post, and dont be so lazy and SEARCH. Every 2G 7bolt motor is that same regardless of the transmission.

if you ask questions that have been covered a few days earlier they will be deleted there is a "search" button up top for that purpose. Im not gonna answer the same thing 500 times a week.

Now like I said before the 2G 7bolt is the motor that is affected... the 7 bolt was in all GSt and GSX cars. the 2G ranged from 95-99 all turbo models have the 4G63 7 bolt and all are prone to have the problem weather its a 5spd or not. That is the Reason so many 2G DSM owners swap in the 4G63 6 bolt motor from a 1G in order to avoid from haveing it walk
