I want to do my own tune-ups on my LS. Gonna change the air filter, spark plugs, maybe the wires, and PCV valve. Oil changes are done on a regular basis.

For the air filter I'm gonna use K&N Stock filter #33-2285.
I don't know what PCV valve to use and where it is located.

The spark plugs look like they will be tough because 3 of them seem to be behind the header, if that is what the big thing on top is called. Never actually saw one before. Anyway, what spark plugs are recommended as well as the spark plug wires?

Are there any complete car care manuals out for the 9G yet, like Haynes or Chilton?

As far as the manuals go, i didn't see anything on the newer galants, the latest they had was a haynes up to 2003.

The thing on top is not the header, but the intake plenium (where air enters the motor) - your car doesn't have headers, but exhaust manifolds. It sounds like you have a V6, but I'm not sure what changed for the new engine in terms of the plugs. As for the previous years (8G) you did have to remove the plenium to get to the back plugs - sounds like a pain, but once you do it a couple of times it gets easier as you know where all the bolts go and what hoses/connections need to be removed.

Yeah I have the v6 and it's appears that it is the manifold on top. YEs there are 3 plugs in the back. Now I jsut need another warm weekend to do this. Will try and document it too.
