From your description thus far, it sounds like a new windshield gasket is needed. Not sure how well this will work but seems logical that it will.... others may have other idea's as well. (note: it's no guarantee that it will work but if you do see water inside when doing this, it will help you isolate where the problem is.) 1) Dry it all out... Fully. Remove as much of the carpet from the side that get's wet as you can (means removing the front seat, some trim panels, etc. on that side)... Make sure the floor's dry. Close the door, and have a friend spray water on the car in one spot for a few minutes and check for water inside. If you don't see any water after a few minutes of spraying, do it again in another spot for a few minutes. You need to do it for a few minutes at each spot because it may take some time for it to leak in and flow to the floor where you'll be able to see it. HTH. Ray
