Well I finally need some help on my car..I have a '99 Eclipse GS-T with the 2.0L turbo 4G63 engine..I don't ever drive the car that much and have only put about 5,500 miles on it in the 3 years I have owned it..It now has only about 51,100 miles on it...Most of the time it sits in the garage..The last time I changed the oil, which was in the Fall before I put it away for the winter, I noticed some oil seeping from the oil line right by the filter on the bottom of the car which obviously has a crack in it..I'm obviously am going to replace it..Is this the line that runs to/from the turbo? Also, people have told me that if it is the line associated with the turbo then it would be best to have it changed by the Mitsubishi dealership because things may have to be taken off to remove the old line and install the new one plus the new line I would have to get from a dealership..How much truth is there to this? I could probably do it myself and I want to but it now sounds like it's a pain in the ass and costly..Help me 2nd gen. 4G63 turbo owners!

If there is oil by your filter then its not a oil line for the turbo. I believe the lines that feed the turbo are located at the top, off the head(feed) and return goes to the front part of the oil pan. If you have the tools and the ambition just do it your self. The dealer never EVER touches my car unless its new and is under warranty.

Not on his car, 2G's are fed from the oil filter housing, and then obviously the return is from the bottom of the CHRA to the oilpan. Both are relatively easy fixes if they are indeed the lines, though I've never seen that happen. Buy some degreaser and clean the affected area good, then make SURE that the line is cracked and or punctured before you start pulling these things and replacing them. Go to an auto-part store and purchase a Chiltons (NOT HAYNES THEY SUCK) Mitsubishi Eclipse car manual. Though they pale in comparison to an actual factory service manual they can be fo great help when you're tearing in to your car.

Good luck, and if it is indeed the lines, it's an easy fix man no worries.
