i have another problem...my speedometer doesnt work.  when it started to go out it would start and then stop and then start and then stop.... i had a shop fix it once they said that they reset the codes in the computer but it didnt last long and it was not working again.  the weird thing was that if it quit working and i wanted it to work again all i had to do was hammer on the accelerator and it would work for a lil while and then stop again...does anyone know what could be wrong...the shop said that my comuter was going bad...ive heard that it could be my cable to my speedometer also

What car are you driving, buddy?  And is it an auto or manual transmission?

Sounds like maybe a wire is shorting out somewhere or is stripped and coming into contact with bare metal. Take out the cluster(if you are able), and check all the wires. Is your CEL still on? Disconnect the battery and step on the brake a few times. Then reconnect the battery and see if the speedo is working. It may work, it may not, but it will reset the ecu.
