hey guys! i'm lacey. i'm 19 and looking to get a new car. I currently have an '89 Camaro which I love TO DEATH but it's gotta go. I just moved out on my own and I need a better, more reliable car. I really like the look of a 96-99 Eclipse. Unfortunately, I know more about Chevy then I do Mitsubishi. Around my area, I've yet to find too many that are the make, model, and year that I'm interested in. I've found ONE that I like, it's a '98 but has 120,000 on it. I'd like something with a little less miles, however, they're asking $3,900 for it. Should the lower the price some, my dad and I are willing to replace the engine. Thing is... as I've said I don't know much about Eclipses/Mitsubishi so I'm hoping someone out there can give me some advice/info. I'm kind of lost! :) thanks to anyone who can help me out!!

Well first off welcome to the site, hope you get the car of your dreams. That looks like the RS/GS models, which like most import cars are fairly reliable. But as I see you are a camaro owner, me thinks you would like some more power. Should that be the case, you'd want to hold out for a 96-99 GST (turboed front-wheel drive) or GSX (turboed all-wheel drive). Try www.carsoup.com I know they have at least a couple. Again, welcome to the site.

Welcome to the form. I would say go for it and put in a GST aka Turbo version of the Eclipse engine. It'll definatly give u a little more power then the N/A (naturally assperiated) engine in the car. Plus nothing is sweeter sounding than a BOV (blow off valve) vented to the atmosphere. But u should definatly try to get it for like 3K/$3000. It's not worth $3900. I hope u have good luck with it though. Peace.

the add says "no dickering" so i guess if he won't give it to me for 3k then it's not worth getting it right? damn this is harder than i thought. finding the car that i want.

I still say try carsoup.com Plenty of good cars there. I have a few saved in my garage (always on the lookout for good deals). Try searching there.

thanks. i have looked on carsoup.com (not too closely) only problem... i'm in Nebraska. It doesn't have nebraska or any of the surrounding states. I'm in college, and buying this car myself. I can barely afford a car let alone having to travel to get it! ha. I want an eclipse bad tho... so idk. guess i'll just have to be patient and keep looking. thank you SOO much though (to all of you that have posted!!!) it helps! and i appreciate it immensely!
