I've got a GReddy BOV that is ported back into my intercooler piping. I know that on other turboed car whose BOV isn't ported every time they shift and the BOV does it's thing, the car will run rich for that moment.
Am i hurting my mpg at all by having the BOV?

Also, it is an adjustable BOV. (BTW if you live in Cali, the smog people hate these. Took me three times to find a place who'll smog my car) With a tightening or loosening of a nug onto of teh BOV i can change it from Harder or Softer. I was told this was to regulate the amount of PSI.
Is this true? If so, which would give me a bigger boost?

sorry if this is a really stupid question, i'm new to the turbo scene. But loving every minute of it!!

Exact BOV i've got

I did some research and found out that I have the GReddy Type-S BOV.

Your car needs the BOV to recirculate other wise it afects the driveability. you should buy the recirc kit for the type s bov. the BOV has nothing to do with how much boost you run it just wont leak boost like the stock one does. if you want more boost you need a boost controller for that

It adjusts the tension on the spring inside making it harder so softer. which makes a difference in how long the BOV stays open and how easily it can open
