I was talking to someone about getting a BOV and they said it's fairly simple to put in but you need to get a gauge and other things to make it run w/o blowing the engine. I was wondering what I should get to make it run what type of flange.

what the ****? you need nothing besides what comes with it. BUT, its a good idea to get new piping for your innercooler. weld the flang onto the hole and you are good to go. there is no need for any type of gauge. who ever told you that is on crack. there are many diff BOVs out there, so if you are brand specific on the rest of your car go with that, otherwise they all work about the same. oh, and if you have an aftermarket intake.. you can get BOVs with a recirculation kit.. making the compressed air flow back into the intake instead of releasing to atmosphere.. but ONLY if your intake has the opening for it, so make sure you look at that before you purchase the BOV. I would go against it just for the fact that your ECU is reading the amount of air that is coming through the inner cooler and intake and all of a sudden if it gets this burst of cold highly pressurized air its going to be all like WTF??? lol, but its up to you. if you get it its "supposed" to get about 3 mpg better than if not so... also if you release to atmosphere it will be Very much louder.
