That's funny! I think exactly the opposite. Performance wise... mustangs have done nothing but get better. For me, it is all about the money to power ratio on a good handling car. Those cars have fixed axles. I like having an all wheel independent suspension so that I can drive fast out on the street and have handling to match it. That's why I bought my '88 supra. (I got it for $100) I have put $300 into it and now I am really close to getting it started. This is a turbo'd car with a targa top! I am ready to get it registered and put on the road soon.

Power-wise and what not the new mustangs might be better, but they are no longer sports cars. You see them EVERYWHERE, almost as much as Honda Civics. ****, I'd trade some performance for some rarity any day. Performance you can upgrade and cultivate. But you can't take cars off the road.
