When i push in the button, the green "CRUISE" indicator turns on. But, when i try to set the cruise with the lever...nothing happens. I just bought the car (fully loaded) and would really like to have cruise as I have driven a 94 Dodge Shadow for 6 years with NO options. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW: I've searched forum for an answer!

Just a stupid question but when you hit the lever you are putting it to set and not resume, and also do you let go of the gas once you hit the lever. These are just to make sure its not something stupid. Like most problems are

Also if you even touch the brake or clutch it'll cut the cruise off. You may need to hold the set for a few seconds to get it to set (My mom's old caddy took a few seconds before it would set but my sentra does it in no time at all).

Check the vacuum hose at the cruise control actuator pump and at the cruise control diaphragm atop the throttle body. They can pop off quite easily.

I didn't realize that the cruise was vaccuum controlled... I always thought it was purely electronic... Thus the reason I don't deal with cruise in my vehicles lol.

Where is the actuator pump? Also, I don't see any hoses unplugged near the throttle body.

The actuator pump is built into the throttle body. The big huge brass looking bell is the vacuum actuator and you can follow that vacuum line all the way over to the far passenger side of the vehicle where your cruise control module is. I don't have a 4cyl on hand to take pictures but I can point you in the direction of the FSM if need be. Let me know!
