I have a chance to get one for $100.. The guy has it sitting in his garage and he doesnt have a car to put it on.. Does anyone know of anyone that has put one of these on there eclipse? Its a very big turbo, but im not sure of what its capable of doing... But would this fit on my 98 Eclipse spyder?

T04B S-3
T04B V1/V2
T04B H-3

Need to know which one it is, what it was bought for originally?.......plus something has to be wrong if its only 100$. Some you don't have too change your stock manifold or downpipe. The T04B V-trim turbo (Which is the popular DSM spec) is rated at 48 lbs/min or more than 700 cfm, Its better than the 16g (38 lbs/min) or 20g (44 lbs/min). Some places have kits for them, you will need a lot of supporting mods. I believe they are good for some where around 450hp......Its not a beginner turbo at all, just get the specs on it and check out what shape its in.

$100 is way to cheap even if it is just laying around. is the T04 an HKS turbo like? I think T04r or is it T04e was a supra turbo?

I talked to a friend, and he said people will swap out there twin turbo's on supra's for this single one.. He said it would be comparable to a T66, and I would need to stick around 5 grand into my motor to use the turbo to its fullest... But he also said it is used for drag racing cars.. But this guy that is gonna sell it to me is a Salary guy that works for a really rich property managment guy... Hes married now and is rebuilding an RX7 with a 305 swap so hes not gonna need the turbo for anything... So since I won't have a need for it in my eclipse, I prolly could turn around and sell it for 300 or more if its in good shape? Ill check around and see what those are goin for...

They do not swap that turbo, they swap the TO4E or TO4R, MUCH DIFFERENT. You will need to dump some cash into your car to support that turbo. That turbo is a little bit better than a 20G, it falls short comparing it to a real "Drag Race Turbo". I would hold on to it and build your car up to it. Again check the condition on that turbo.

Even if I could trade it for a 16g or something, then I wouldnt have to dump a lot of money into my car right now to use the turbo without getting huge turbo lag...

Have you looked at a compressor chart for it? Its not THAT big......its a nice turbo to build up to, and worth holding on to if it is in good shape. If you don't want it, hell I'll buy it to put on my DSM project.

I know that is deffinatly not the supra turbo... the Supra one like I said and NESpeed said is the TO4r or To4e and those Are much bigger. I was only asking if it was an HKS turbo because I think the To4r and e are HKS and well that falls into the same family I guess

The T72 is what Hulk Hogans supra has. they are kinda mid range I guess. the T78 is popular and the T88H is huge HP 900+
