Hey everyone. Gotta quick question for anyone who can help. I wanted to paint parts on the interior of my eclipse however I don't know of any good paints that won't fade or chip off easily. So if anyone has any suggestions to what brands or stores may have good paint that won't chip away easily I'd greatly appreciate the insight.

I am a perfectionist, however I have found that most any automotive paint will work. USE PLENTY OF CLEAR COAT to prevent it from chipping. Also, make sure the paint totally cures before you put it back in your car to prevent any damage. I use black duplicolor. I despise painting your components lime green and stupid bright colors like that, but whatever. That's my 2 cents.

Duplicolor paint turns out AMAZING if you do all the correct prep work. Make sure first that you clean the area with rubbing alcohol or at least soap and water, then sand it to scuff up the area to 400 grit at least. Then spray some primer on it and it wouldn't hurt to wet sand the primer after that. Then spray on the dupliclor base coat, follow by a clear coat or 2. If you take your time, your product will turn out looking very nice.

Thanks for all the great insight guys. I was actually thinking of using Duplicolors Candy line of paints. I really like the candy affect and it looks badass. I'll prob start on something small like the radio trim and see how it turns out before I commit to everything else. Once again, thanks for the replies and great advice.

I also have another question. Is half an hour to an hour enough cure time before I can apply another coat of paint and or clear coat?

If you are going to paint the bezels around the radio and the one around the middle vents, be sure to sand the hell out of them first because they have that bumpy surface to them. You will be much happier with the results if you sand all the bumps down first. A half an hour is fine between coats just let the basecoat dry for a little white longer before you apply the clear. I would say do at least 2 coats of clear and you will be very happy with the results. Also, just to be safe I would wait 24 hours at least before installing them back into the car, and even then, be careful not to bump them into other things when reinstalling them.

Why would someone want to destroy the inside of a perfectly good car, with a tacky ass paint job? The only inside jobs i've seen turn out good are the ones on TV.. I agree with m3kgt_99.. But I guess keeping a car looking clean, isn't cool anymore.

Here is a picture of my engine bay... the ONLY paint I used under here was DupliColor. EVERYTHING that you see painted was painted with DupliColor primer/basecoat/clearcoat. You be the judge of how good it turns out if you do the right prep work. List of things painted...

Fuse Box Cover
Reservoir Caps
Oil Fill Cap
ECU bracket
Battery Tie Down
