Hi, i just bought a 03 Glant ES about 3 weeks ago. For the last 2 weeks it has been making some kind of sqeaking somewhere in the area of the two front wheels. I compare the sound it makes to a combination of a rusty bike and a rusty swing. Kind of like what Deebo's bike sounds like from the movie Friday. If anyone can give me some info, i would greatly appreciate it.

I actually had this problem on my GALANT a week ago. When I had it checked out it turned out to be the backplate of the rotors grinding against each other. It could also be that your timing belt is going bad and might need changing.

How much did that cost to have the thing with the rotors fixed? I was also wondering how the timing belt would be involved.

timing belt problem on an 03?

how many miles do you have on the car?

my 2000 is needing one as it is pushing 86000. I can hardly believe you are in that mileage range on your 2003.

Talk to me about squeak in front cabin...

Been having some squeak (startup, while moving), and not sure what is causing it.

Had the belts done, and it still squeaks. My guy friends said it might be a pully(?) or timing belt is going bad.

Anyways, car has 103,xxx miles... I am tired of going back and forth with this squeaking.

Anyone know a price range for a pully?

Thanks.

A knocking or clicking, b/c a bad axle will click while turning. Just an idea, look under the car and see if any of your axle boots are ripped.
