Well, I came acrross the forum when i was doing some reserch online about the eclipse/talon. I figured, no better way to learn about the car than to talk to people who have one.

I am looking for either a Talon TSI or an Eclipse GTX (94-99) and i want to know the good, the bad, the ugly and the easily modifiable.

Any hints, tricks, words of caution or anything else would be greatly appreciated.

i would go for the GSX its awd and its still a 4g63t... the talon is a turbo 420a.... pm me with questions

Correction here. the Eclipse 90-99GSt and GSX are the exact same thing as the 90-98 Talon TSi and TSi AWD they all share the 4G63 Turbo motor. The 95-99 Eclipse GS\RS are the same as the 95-98 ESi Talon with the 420a Motor.

The 420a never came turbo charged and that motor was in all 2G GS\RS and ESi...The 1G eclipse talons had 4G63 non turbo motors in the non turbo models also a 1.8L motor (forgot the code though)

Just had to clear that one up from Tidus' post.

all turbo models are easy to modify and make fast BUT the 2G turbo cars 95-99 were know to have a factory defect causeing the crank to walk and braking the motor this motor is reffered to as the 7bolt motor. the 1G 90-92 had the stronger motor reffered to as the 6 bolt. the 92.5-94 cars had the 7 bolt as well.
