I have read both good and bad from reviews on the capability of the vehicle. One concern is power. I'm looking specifically for the 3.5, not the 3.0...probably 04. What are the pros and cons of the Sport. What are the weak points in the drivetrain. I am not at all familiar with the Mitsubishi 4x4's and want to know basically this...What are the best reasons to consider the Montero Sport. No rock climbing will be involved, primarily a daily driver and a few excursions off the beaten path and into the mud and things of the sort. I will test the limitations of the 4x4 system, but not regularly. I have had an 04 S10 Blazer 4x4 and 00 Jeep Wrangler with the only mods being tires and lighting. Will this be comparable/better/worse.
Thanks guys!

Well... I got the body lift on the Monty. 10 cut knuckles and a hole lot of frustration later. I don't have a camera so I can't take pictures. She looks good, exccept for the gap on the front bumper. No biggy.

I miss measured so the lift actually came out to 1 1/2 inches instead of 1 inch. Oh well, you can't win them all. I am going to have to cut about 2 inches off the front bumper's side pieces to get it out of the way. I know I can fit 32s now, but I would like to go to 33s. We'll see. Maybe a 305 75 R 16 which comes out to like 32.8 inches. What I want to do is ditch the 16 inch rims and go to the American Racing 767 15 inch rims and 33 inch MTR tires.
