i was just thinking , if i take my scuba tank ( 80cf 3000psi) and sent a hose with a shut of valve into my intake or throttle body and had it set up so that with a pull of a lever for like a ball valve on the inside of my car, it would give a shot of air at a fairly decent psi into the engine creating boost. Would this work? If not why? i under stand this would not work the same as a turbo.
This was just a discusion between me and two others tonight. I realize that if this would work it would need more fuel as well

The out put of a paintball tank is roughly 800-950psi... I dont think your motor will handle that, also you will lean out with out a good fuel tune.

sounds good in theory.... the only problem is how long it would last and you would have to dial down the pressure. But since yo need the volume.... i am sure somone well versed enough in fluid dynamic could give it a go.

Well also think about when your blasting this air into the motor it will also travel out your intake. You also have to make sure you regulate the psi into the motor, which really I don't think this can be done. Again you would have to design some system to stop the pressurized air from escaping out your intake. That could be tricky to do...........are you intending to put this on a already turbo car or a N/A?
