I wouldnt take the time to sand all the clear and/or the color off. Thats why they make a sealer/primer for. Just scuff the clear, shoot on a couple coats of sealer/primer, wetsand that down SMOOTH, and start applying the base. Also you will NEED to get a good dryer for the compressor because if you have ANY moisture in the airlines you are asking for problems. I have painted everything from planes to refinishing bathtubs (you name it, Ive probably painted it). Hope my advice helps. As far as guns, I run a Sharpe, but more importantly, its the user rather than the gun. Like was said before, practice, get the feel of it, and you will do good! Good luck!
