Hey all... I have 2002 montero limited automatic. Car has 23000 miles on it. Problem is that it makes a chattering sound wher the car is at idle. The sound/problem doesnt seem to affect the cars performance but its real loud when warming up and still noticably loud when warmed up. Sound is comming from underneath engine. Cant pinpoint exactly but sounds more like the front bottom area. Not to sure and hard to tell. Also i have a problem with the digital climate control. For whatever reason, when the car first starts up int he morning its set to 75 degrees but as the car is driven, the temp coming out the vents is like maximum heat and no matter what setting i put it on with the exception of the lowest setting (65 degrees) it will continue to push out maximum heat temps. If i shut the car off and then turn it back on 5 min later then it will work properly where it would be consistant witht he temp setting. Any response given to either problem will be greatfull. Thanx in advance.

You have probably solved your problems by now, but anyway on the first I had the same type chatter and it turned out to be alternator belt tensioner roller. That got replaced and noice gone.
