I want to buy a cat-back exaust for my 2000 GT but I cant decide whitch manufacturer i want. Does anybody have any suggestins on the best one? I want the one with the most horsepower gain and a nice deep sound. These are the ones that I was looking at. Tanabe, 5Zigen, Greddy Evo, Invidia, Injen, Thermal Research. If anybody has any better makers please tell me.

Invidia i perfect for future plans if turbo or Ripps SDS are in the cards I had it on my 02 GT, it is loud and very deep and does NOT drown out like Greddy EVO at high rpms. Greddy EVO is quiet but throaty nice tone friend has it on his 01 GT...and ive had apexi N1 as well on my 00 GS that is as loud as invidia but didnt sound as good

To me invidia is the best exhaust product for power since it is 2.75 in pipeing versus 2.5 or 2.25 like the others...Also keep in mind 2G GST exhaust will fit youll just have to cut off the hangers and swap them onto the other side. But that means you could go 3 inch if you reall y intend to boost later other wise 3 inch is too big

GReddy Evo II

it is a great Exhaust but I dont think that is the sound he is looking for. Greddy is not deep it is not loud and if you have an intake it gets drown out by the intake sound after about 4500rpms the exhaust you cant even hear even cars behind will hear the intake over the exhaust. That is why I said Invidia because it is very loud in comparison and intake noise doesnt overtake it plus it is very deep.

Either way you cant lose

I thank everybody for the suggestions. I dont think ill turbo it later on since it has some miles on it so im gonna stay away from the GST exausts but i do want to get intake headers and straight piping. Is this going to be a problem since the Invidia is 2.75 or can I still do a straight piping?

i have the Thermal R&D Catback exhaust and it sounds great from Idle - redline. Deep, solid, and loud. Keep in mind i also have OBX Racing headers, downpipe and high flow cat though, the sound may change withought these things but they are prety cheap on e-bay.

...Greddy is not deep...

UUMmmmmm... My GReddy EVO II is quite deep and loud. Once I got over 3500 RPM it gets more quiet.. but between 1500 and 3500... you can't hear yourself think and its so deep my heart wants to skip a beat. haha

...i just have no clue how it'd work with turbo stuff.. never delt with that.

well there is a big difference from the sound you will get with a 420a and the sound you will get with a 4g72.
