Yea so I am just starting to get into this whole car mod thing, I don't really know anything about cars, but really want to learn. I have a 03 Oz- auto tran, I have kind of been looking for a intake and all the cai i find are for 5-speed only? Whats that about? What is the diff between short ram/cai? Can anyone recommend a good one?
Exhausts- one of the shops said they could do one for under 300, 2 1/4 piping and magnaflow or flowmaster can, is this good?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and yes I know that I could probably find the answer someplace on this site, and I have tried looking but I don't really know what I am doing.

ok ill start buy saying there is an intake\exhaust section and we have answered these ?'s a few times there.

But ill do it again, a CAI is an intake where the pipe puts the filter down infront of a tire of your car in that area (colder air down there) a short ram the filter will sit right next to your motor. now the Auto has a bigger tran than a 5 spd so the CAI pipe might not fit right with the bigger tran and that is why there is a difference. short ram doesn matter it goes no where near the trans.

for exhuast $300 for a cat back is good or average price. for that much i would just buy a full name brand one that bolts right up with no welding needed. magnaflow is good I wouldnt use Flowmaster. my personal favorite exhausts for a non turbo car would be greddy made they sound good other wise apexi N1
