On my 00 eclipse the guy before me put headers on it and removed the egr tube, when he did this he left the spot on the intake manifold open.......I made a plate to block it off but won't this cause the engine to idle rough?

The EGR tube isn't threaded into the intake? Hake sure you gasket the hole. You want it to be sealed. If it's not then you'll lose vac in the intake and yes that WILL dork things up and make you run like @$$ if at all.

By the way, that is what made the car throw the code......i'm not sure how i seemed to overlook the missing tube the first time I checked.......when i put the plate on last night i put a gasket on it so I hope everything is fixed now.......well just have to see if my light comes back on when I drive it.....

Did you unplug the battery and reset the ECU?

I have a scan tool so I just erased the code.....

the code will continue to reappear you cant erase it. but no, egr block off will not cauge idle problems
