HI, I just aquired a 1998 GST from my brother. It has 81K miles on it. It's all stock except for the turbo timer and he put a BLITZ BOV before, but he took it out. That’s all the modification that was ever done to this car. My question is what maintenance do I need to do? The clutch doesn’t slip, but its really low and the pedal is really hard. My problem right now is that when I'm driving I noticed around 3,000RPM, the car kinda lags and then it accelerates. I could see the boost gauge going up. It does this everygear. I also noticed this on the freeway. When I press on the gas I could feel something holding it or loosing power and then it just accelerates. (it feels kinda like loosing tracking, but that’s not the case.) Today the check engine ligt went on. Any suggestions?

Change the spark plugs and wires. Make sure you do the wires!!!. Then go form there. But i have a feeling thats all it is. Also while your getting wires you might as well have autozone check the CEL code for you too see what its saying. Then get back to us with it.

340 for the timming belt and water pump is a pretty good deal, also if its compleatly stock replace your stock paper filter with a k&n drop in filter, that will make the car breath a little better.

Hi like I said on my first post 81K miles. I went to autozone like you guys suggested and I borrowed the reader for $200. it came back with some code, misfire on cylinder 3. I reset it and the check engine light went away. I bought new plugs, wires and air filter and will install it tonight. I called my bro and he said the last service was done by mitsubishi at 45K miles (brakes, new plugs and wires and so on) As for the clutch, its not slipping, but its really hard and deep. I had a INtegra Type R with a 4 PUCK ACT clutch and it wasnt hard at all. And my New Volvo T5, the clutch is not hard at all either. Pressure plate or it it normal?
