welcome. what turbo is that thing? im not sure youll be able to slap em into the EVO though maybe the waistgate but not sure. The stock turbo on the IX can make big HP anyway

the turbo is actually part of a kit that was for my tc. since i will be selling my car, i won't be needing the turbo kit. i will be selling the kit later on. the turbo won't be going on the evo the turbo is a evo 3 gt. i have heard both good and bad things about this specific turbo, but from the people that already have this installed, they have giving a thumbs up, for now. we will see if problems occur in the future. The wastegate and bov is part of the kit so that also will not be going on the evo, but the hks turbo timer, defi gauges and misc items should work fine with the evo. here are some of my questions that i will ask all at once instead of creating multiple threads with different questions. does the original emanage or emanage ultimate work well on the evo(granted if it is a good tune)? the tarmac, gravel, and snow selections, does it adjust front/reat torque split? can't find any info on that yet. I am still debating if i should get a used 2003 evo or evo IX, i'll figure that out later but right now i am 80% sure it will be a new one. what is the weakest link in the motor, transmission, etc.? any issues that you have personally dealt with(mechanically)? my overall goal on the car will be daily driven 300whp more or less. what i plan on doing almost immediately would be full exhaust, intake or just the filter element, and a recirculated hks bov. i have a few other things in mind but that would probably have to wait. thank you and any kind of info is appreciated.

ok 300WHP on an 03 will take a 3in turbo back exhaust intake MBC and a tune and fuel pump and your there. I am about there now with mine it is good for mid\high 12s. the 05s are slightly easyier and the 06s are only needing exhaust and MBC. Problems with the EVO are mainly the T case if you launch with out burning the clutch and just drop the clutch you will break the T case over a short time. the Stock clutch is weak. The paint is not great it chips peals fades and scrathes very easy. the clear coat on the wing goes bad and gets white spots, the Brembos clearcoat goes bad and the calipers turn pink and white early model 03s had a recall on the tranny I think for high rpm grinds. For the Emangae I dont see alot of guys use them, most EVO owners just get teh stock ECU flashed and call it a day untill they get more mods. I use the SAFCII and it is super easy to use and tune the EVO with. I bought my 03 EVO used for a great deal low low miles on it. If you look at used cars be carefull keep in mind this car is made to be abused to most owners dont drive them like grandma unless they are low miles. It also depends on if you want a sertain model or sertain options. you will pay extra on a new EVO or an 05 EVO for the HID headlights since it wasnt standard after 04 also 05s had a leater seat\ interior package.
