Since my 99 Galant(2.4L) has 100k, I decided to be proactive and install
a new alternator, battery, and belts. The car was working fine before I
installed everything. After installing everything, now it stalls every now
and again w/o any consistency. I removed the alt and battery, took them
to Autozone, had them tested, and they were both ok. I put them back in
and I still have the same problem. Help:(

Could my belts be too loose or too tight?? Bad wiring between the alt and battery. I'm just
a weekend repair type of person so any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Mike C.

Check your alt and battery. The new alt could have a problem. What guage wire was used?

Loose battery terminals will do that.

I wish it was loose battery terminals:) I even cleaned the darn things off.

Another website told me that it may be my computer trying to reset.

that could be... dissconnect it and pump the ABS and leave it to drain of power. Recommect it and start it up... it may stall instantly... keep it alive with the throttle and go for a drive. It should be fine after a few miles.

I doubt that though. If he is able to start up ok.

TheENgineers Talon would run fine for a little while and then die out at a stop or something and it ended up being a loose terminal
