2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is 3.7 inches longer, 2.0 inches wider, and 0.4 inches higher than the 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.

It is powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine tuned to six-speed Sport Mode CVT automatic gearbox and delivering 170 hp.

The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is expected to go on sale in America in 2006. The range is also expected to include a VW-sourced 2.0-liter DI-D diesel.

actually, the north american version is powered by an all new, all aluminum 3.0 liter Mivec V-6 producing (I think) 220 hp. there is no 4 cylinder option.

Isn't that a contradictory statement? Don't CVT transmissions typically have cones/belts that are continuously variable in their ratios and not limited to the small number of gears typical in an auto or manual trans?

Aley is only posting for a dealer it seems, perhaps a salesperson looking to stir up a customer or two. Damn salespeople....j/k
I wonder how they modified the 2.4 to get 170 HP from the factory, hmmm. I may have to dive into a bit more research and see if it's something I can use or if they rerouted the flow of oil and all that fun kinda stuff like on the Caliber. Oops, I just saw it was a DOHC engine. Hmmm, I may have to look into that.

Its a DOHC engine. The original 2.4 is SOHC with 162 HP in the ralliart Lancer.

I see, so it's the new "world" engine. Well, if the DOHC conversion is only good for 8 HP I guess I'll stop thinking about it...lol.
