2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is 3.7 inches longer, 2.0 inches wider, and 0.4 inches higher than the 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. It is powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine tuned to six-speed Sport Mode CVT automatic gearbox and delivering 170 hp. The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is expected to go on sale in America in 2006. The range is also expected to include a VW-sourced 2.0-liter DI-D diesel. actually, the north american version is powered by an all new, all aluminum 3.0 liter Mivec V-6 producing (I think) 220 hp. there is no 4 cylinder option.

ORIGINAL: aley It is powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine tuned to six-speed Sport Mode CVT automatic gearbox Isn't that a contradictory statement? Don't CVT transmissions typically have cones/belts that are continuously variable in their ratios and not limited to the small number of gears typical in an auto or manual trans?
