I have a 86 mitsubishi starion non intercooled.
when i start the car it will run for a minute then stall if you shut it off then restart it does the same thing so im resetting something i put a main relay in but that didnt help.I had to get a used air mass sensor earlyer because mying died when you plugged it in the engine would die. If you start the car with the mass air flow sensor unplugged the car will run but when you take it down the road the engine wont go above 4500 rpms the engine breaks up.When the engine is hot the car will run with the mass air flow sensor plugged in but if you turn the car off then back on the engine will hunt then after awhile the idel will smooth out. I took it down the road last night and got on it the car pulled good but it back fired threw the throttel body acouple of times. The car started this on and off thing when i didnt ground my tach i put in good i now have it grounded to the engine ground cable.
i think the mass airflow sensor might not begood but the junk yard said it tested good .
If anyone has had this probelm before HELP.
Thanks.
Rick.
