Okay, I've ordered a Magnaflow Titanium Exhuast for my Evolution and I already have the Injen Intake w/IC pipe. My next and last performance mod (not sure if it's my last) is to get the ECU reprogrammed. I've been to many different websites (ECUTEK, AMS...etc.) and explored ECU tuning but none of them give details or a whole lot of information. Has anybody dealt with ECU tuning? If so, what are your ideas, experience..etc. Any ideas, thoughts, or opinions will help!! I've heard gains are up to 60 horsepower?? My goal is to reach 12 seconds flat in the quarter mile.....

get a MBC and a fuel pump then get the flash 12.00 should be possible I guess. The gain is more like 40WHP or so but they change alot with a flash Versus a SAFC or something.

The flash ups the rev limitter to 7800 , eliminates fuel cut, changes timing trims and fuel trims, and can do alot more apon request

Ok, bear with me here....I believe I have a electronically controlled blow-off valve that is controlled by the ECU. Since the ECU controls this (does it?) then doesn't this mean when they tune the ECU the tuners can turn up the boost. As for the SAFC, it controls your A/F ratio correct and basically piggybacks the ECU...right? So, if I just get the ECU tuned this would be doing all that you mentioned?? Go easy and explain because I'm new to turbos.....but I love em!!!!!!!!

Your BOV is not controlled by the ECU at all it is contriolled by VAC, however on a reflash yes thay can turn the boost higher if that is what you want. The SAFCII is a piggyback to the ECU and yes you can change the A\F ratio. It works by changing the MAS readings before it gets to the ECU so you change the amount of air basically and that will effect the A\F ratio. IF you get the ECU flashed you have to tell them what you want done I think and that is a custom flash. Dont get a flash if you plan on more mods in the near future because after each mod it is wise to re tune the car to get the best A\F for power and safty

Okay, I was looking at the SAFC II and I'm not sure about a couple of things:

1st - If you're using the SAFC II and can adjust the boost pressure then there isn't any use for a MBC (Manual Boost Controller) right? I'm only asking this because I've seen, throughout the web, people with the SAFC II and an MBC and I'm like.....what's the point of the MBC if you can adjust the boost pressure with the SAFC II???

2nd - The ECU has two modes of operation, closed-loop and open-loop. I've heard two different ideas about the closed-loop operation. I hear your ECU runs in closed-loop mode when the car is warming up and I've also heard the car runs in closed-loop when it's at part throttle and below 4500 rpm.....which is correct or are both of them correct?
