so your in the same boat as willdue... i spent about a year looking for a car and really thought about all types and im actually really happy with the one i got. awd would be great when i mess around with 2 coworkers (lightly modded sti, very heavy modded wrx) but for everyday use i rarely get into a close race. its almost funner to race around in the eclipse because there is more of a challenge. and it just works out when ever there is an evo, sti, cobra what have you im in teh eclipse or the other side of the road, but i guess thats a good thing probally kept me out of trouble. I dont know how old either of you are but dont get over your head with power and if you do get a fast car take it easy untill you know its restrictions, ive read to many srt drivers that were going 1xxmph and hit something screwing around and mark up a few more in a bag.

well i know what my limitations are. I am going to be 22 in a week. I previously owned a talon with most of the basic mods. Got it running around a low 14 sec. Then i had to sell it. But now i have been looking for something new and allittle more rare. At first i was looking for an mr2 turbo. But they seem to be very high priced. Lately i have been turned on to the idea of a 300zx. but we'll see.

out of those 3 cars id probally go with the talon. i thought about an mr2 when i was looking but after checking out my friends mr2 there not well set up. very small engine bay still has a lot of engine accessories in the front and a small cabin but the rwd is cool. i consider 300zx cheep mans vr4's but i havent seen the prices of 300's in about 2 years so it might be a good deal but if i remember correctly they are pricy to mod and heavy. anywho im off to bed have a good day all.

300Zs are sick cars, but i wouldn't compare them to a VR4. 300Zs come in two models the Coupe and the Coupe 2+2 (4 seats) A very nice looking/running 300Z is hard to find, so Engineer, if you're looking into getting one be ready to throw some bucks down. Either on the intial buy if you can find a perfect one, or later on in maintence. i have to diagree a little, i think the MR2 turbos are siiick cars. Stock they push out 200 horsepower. in a two seater rwd that's crazy! Plus the later models have great body styling. between the 300z and the MR2 Turbo, i'd go with the MR2. but agian, like the 300z, there's money to throw down there.

Here's a fun Question. IF you couldn't choose a Mitsu (because i know many will say "just get a mitsu"). Which would you pick? 2004 RSX-S or 2004 WRX. Now looking at all angles now. Not "oh the wrx is 4WD and turboed so its better" doesn't cut it. Lets look at Prices of gas, performance, reliability, etc etc etc...which would you pick? personally i'd go w/ the wrx, but i want to hear all your thoughts. (no, not selling the eclilpse any time soon)

well ill asume your talking about 300zx not a 350z and the turbocharged 300zx is a lot like a vr4 just dumbed down a bit vr4 3.0ltr v6 TT 320 hp 315 ftlb trq 6speed manual awd/aws 300zx 3.0ltr v6 TT 300 hp 285 ftlb trq 5 speed manual/4 speed auto rwd look pretty similar to me. poot nation what do you want out of your car?

i'm happy with my eclipse and plan on keeping it for a while. But before I bought the Eclipse i had the problem deciding between the WRX and RSX-S that's why i asked and I see what you mean by the similarities. but still i believe teh vr4s are in a slightly different league.

I would probally go with the rsx if you wernt going to do a lot of modding more than bolt ons since you can get decent speed out of them and there clean looking. wrx's are slow from the factory and require quite a bit to get there 2nd-4th gear speed up. i spent a lot of time going mod for mod with a coworker with his wrx. when i was stock i beat him with intake/tbe. then he got a reflash and beat me. i added cat back and intake and beat him and it stayed that way till he droped 8k in parts and i had put about 1.5k and still took him from a roll. he got out of the military so ive only talked to him and has gone over the 14k in mods so it should be interesting to see what he puts down.

Cuz ive been weighing the options and looking at the prices of each. Really they will be around the same price for either of them. I've been looking at spending around 10k-15k on either of them. so that doesnt really matter. I do love just about everything about the mr2 except the workability. Those things from what ive heard are quite a pain to work on

back when i was looking around, a good 300 turbo was more than a MR2 turbo. but youre right, the MR2 turbos do take some work. But they're really nice if you can keep them that way.
