I found the spark plugs on top of the engine but im not sure how to get them out. It's a V4 1999 Galant. All the spark plugs seem to be connected together by a bar on top to hold them in place? i dont know. Im an amateur.

Help please :)

Pull out the plug wire to ONE of the plugs and you will need a spark plug socket to get them removed... maybe even an extension. Only remove one at a time because if you get them back in the wrong order your going to have fun guessing the right way to put them back.

You have to remove the coils to access 2 spark plugs, the other 2 should be easy to get to. After you remove the coils you'll need to remove the wires and boots from the spark plugs. Then you need a plug socket to remove them. When your installing the new spark plugs make sure you gap them and place the plug wires to the proper cylinders and you be good to go.

ok similar to the first poster, I thought i had found the spark plugs at the back of the engine, but they're not there. What is there is a small bar across the top connecting four electrical connectors that plug into the engine head. There are also two extra connectors (yellow in colour) that plug into cyclinders 1 & 3. i took these off and there is just a small hole that is not wide enough for a spark plug. I'm attaching a pic I found on the net that i think describes what the replies above are talking about with the two coil packs and plugs but this is not the same as my engine, i will post a pic of my own engine when i get the chance to take a pic?

NOTE: this is not mine just what I think the above posters are talking about...
Any thoughts?

Thanks
