i just bought a gray evo 9 without the sun, sound, and leather. if you want a sunroof then get it. but if you are for racing without the sunroof is lighter and a whole lot cheaper. my evo came out to $32,500 after everything. and if you want the ssl then your total will be around 38 -39k. that is a big difference from mine. and the 6k you save can make you one crazy evo 9.

and the regular evo 9 without ssl is faster than the mr in the 1/4 because of less shifting. and the rs is the fastest out of the 3.

MR is a waiste if you plan to lower the car. at that point the only difference from a regular EVO is it has a 6 spd and alluminum roof. Some say the Bilstein shocks that the MR gets are more for comfort not cornering same with the 6 speed tranny.

Personally paying 36-42k for an MR is a waiste when you can get a regular EVO for much less I would even get SSL maybe only the HID option and that is all. I paid $22 for my 03 with 12k on it to me that is better than 42k for an MR with under 100 miles on it. think if I had the cash $20K in mods right off the bat. less of a car payment less to insure ect ect

The Evo 9 MR also comes with the vortex generator and foil on the rear spoiler....these actually work but to what degree I'm not certain...I would also get the regular Evo rather than the MR. I purchased my Evo 9 with the gauges and sound package...no sunroof though.

yeah dude, save the money and get a regualr evo. I drive an 03 same as mike (emonz) and a guy at my job drives an 05 mr....

he wishes he'd saved the money lolol.

and as for the vortex generator, it DOES help with keeping your car nice and low (extra downforce) but that really works at high speeds (anything over like 90-110) AND you can buy one from your dealer or a website like lancershop.com for $250. or grab one from ebay for $100.

Sweet, thanks guys. Guess I'll go with the SSL. I gotta have a decent stereo. I should be ordering it today from California, and having it shipped out to South Carolina. Funny thing is, its going to be cheaper for me to buy one from out there and have it shipped here, than to buy one from out here.

How are the non leather Seats in the GSR? is it the same Recaro seats? and teh Sound part, how much better is the sound? alot or not really anything. Would probably be cheaper just to buy a sound system if teh SSL 's sound isn't that much of a difference.

the Leather I hear mixed reviews on, personally I like the leather but I have the sued sport fabric which is also nice. I know if you dont like the leather they sell for about $1100 used lol. the fabric seats are recaro as well just not leather wrapped

I've decided to go with the GSR. Reason for not getting the SSL is because, as some of you in hot states know, when its 100+ degrees outside, leather gets really hot to touch, especially when you're wearing shorts. I'm just waiting on the Dealer to get me a shipping quote now then I should be able to get this thing ordered.

good choice man, and i'm a soujnd system junkie, i've got like 2g's of sound equipment in my car and trust me, there is a HUGE difference between ANY stock system and after market.

If you are looking to upgrade your sound system, stick with brands like alpine type-r (really good) or type-x (competition good) (DONT GET TYPS-S CAUSE THEY SUCK!) for speakers, alpine, pioneer or jvc for heads and amps, and alpine or pioneers for subs. do NOT GET the cheap stuff on ebay, i know it SAYS 2000 watts but i did it once with an amp and two subs and it was a waste of money.

any more questions about sound let me know
