Hi, i have a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse GS, one of my stock fog lights has blown out, and i cant figure out how to remove the old one. I have figured out that i have to replace the whole fixture, but i dont know how or what screws to remove. ANY help in this department would be awesome since i would much not rather have to go to the dealer to do this.

Me and my dad have lifted the car, and looked under the car, looked at every screw in the region and cant find a simple method of removing the fog light. The obvious way to do it, isnt obvious.

you should be able to remove it. There are only 2 bolts holding it on. One you should see from the front, and the other on the bottom

SOOO i went to autozone, and bought a replacement bulb for the fog light. I wanted to see what it looked like to perhaps give me and idea of what needed to be done to remove the old bulb. Well to say the least it was useless. In response to the previous tip, i have located a screw in the corner of the fixture, however there isnt any scews/bolts underneath that i can see. There is a bolt on the side of the fixture, however it has rusted way past recognition and i think the only way to remove it is to cut it. I am pondering on whether or not i should bring it to the dealer, i was tryin to avoid that, but seems like i dont have a choice. The other option im considering is possibly gettin a new car. The eclipse although nice, is starting to give me lots of little problems, and the new fog light i believe costs $100 or more, and thats more than i wanna spend on a fog lite. Especially on a car thats almost 10 yrs old, i cant believe changing a fog light is sooo much work. Other vehicles i have had, it was a simple task, this thing is worse than rocket science...lol

Get a haynes manual, it'll be the best $20.00 you have ever spent.
