are you talking about the laser cuz if you are i think the answer is no. If i remember they didnt even come with the 4g63. I forget what it was. But the last time i did research on it, it really didnt seem like a good idea to be modding one

if thats all you plan on doing then i dont see why not, wait is this a turbo laser? And to make a correction on what i previously said, the lasers did come with the 4g63 in the turbo models

oh ok, yea i dont really see a point in moding it if you are planning on getting something and using it as a daily driver. Those models came with the 1.8l engine i believe

Their were many models avaible for the 1g's, the 4g63-t awd, 4g63-t fwd, the non turbo 4g63 which was in the rs model and then their was a base that was just called the lazer which had the 4g67 1.8 in it. So to answer the question yes your car has a 4g63 in it, but its different from a turbo 4g63, it has different cams, injectors, pistons, headgasket, and the oil spouts in the block are different causing the motor to run at a lower oil pressure then the turbo model. Basically its really not worth to turbo it unless your just going to throw a 14b on and swap the ecu/injectors.
