I got a 2000 Galant ES, and when i sit idle my car stalls. Can anyone help me out?

Could be bad spark. Does your car ever backfire when its being driven hard?

thanks for the reponse, no i doesn't backfire. Today i took my car to auto zone and they did a diagnostic check and it showed cylinder 4 was misfiring. i just recently replaced the plugs. Im thinking its the wiring. do you think cleaning the trottle body would help?

No not really. I would replace the spark plug wires and see if that works. What is the condition of the plug on cyl 4?

The plug is fine i just replaced them. Do you know about how much the new wires would cost?

i think around $40 for wires. But thats just a guess from when i got them a while ago. Depends on what type you get too. The cheap bosch ones will be cheaper than others.

i went to auto zone today and the wires were a little under $30. It onlo came with two of them. do you think i should replace all of them? Oh and i cleaned my TB there was a lot of black gunk in there. my car still stalls when i sit idle but not when its in park.

did you replace the wire on the right cylinder (4). Reset your battery and see if the check engine light comes back on
