I have an 06 black Eclipse GT with about 500 miles on it. I recently purchased the "magnet bra" for my car to protect the paint from road debris ( a magnetic bra that protects the hood- magnetbra.com). Today I went to clean underneath the magnet bra and when I removed the bra it took the paint with it!! My brand new car is now permanently damaged and will need to have the hood repainted. Do not buy this product!!! I just discovered this and I am obviously extremely heated that my brand new GT is now f***ed up. I am not a troll and I am not trying to suggest anyone use another product instead of magnetbra, I am just giving a warning I wish I would have had.

Damn, that sucks!! Did you contact the company and let them know what's going on? Any response from them if you did?

yeah, I wrote them an email. They dont have a company address or a phone number or anything, which makes me worry that its a shady company. Naturally they will try and say it is not their fault blah blah blah, even though they "guarantee" it will not damage your paint. So today I am going to go find a lawyer, because im sure it will come to that. It is going to be a huge headache and with lawyer fees it will cost me ton of time and money. The car has only 500 miles on it, so when I looked and a huge strip of paint was gone and stuck to the back of the stupid "paint protecting" bra, you can imagine my reaction.

Yeah I bought it off ebay, but they sell it at places like Autocityimports.com. I had a WRX I just sold and I put about 10 grand into that car modifying it and it had a bunch of rock chips on the hood, so I didnt want the same thing to happen to my new car. At least all the paint on the front of my hood is safe from rock chips, considering its stuck to the back of the stupid magnet bra sitting in my garage

have you maybe considered faulty factory paint. Because mitsubishi is known for its poor quality in car paint. You might be able to file this one under the warrenty if its shown that the bra didnt do it

This is why I have legal protection! With the world as screwed as it is, I'll pay a small monthly charge to save a boatload when I use an attorney.

Well I just got back from the dealer, I have an appointment tues. It is going to cost me $300 to get the damaged paint repaired. A member on another eclipse forum had a magnet bra also and it screwed his paint up also. He thought it was fine, but after reading my post he checked it and sure enough, paint damage. Do not buy magnet bra! Owner will not reply to my emails about damage

I say just start calling them, i mean they do have a phone # right. Anyway, do you know of anyone with other cars that have had this problem (i mean other than eclipses) . Or other eclipses that have different bra's that havnt had a problem. Im not saying that the magnet bra didnt do it. There's probably a 99% chance that it was it. But like i said in my other post. Mitsu is known for ****ty paint.
