I was sitting at a traffic light last night and an S2000 pulls up next to me. This car was definetily a beauty and he must've just washed it because it was emacualant. The driver didn't say anything and I was glad because I didn't have any experience racing my Evo from a dig. Well, when the cross-street light turned yellow the driver in the S2000 revs the engine and I thought great, I'm going to get smoked from a dig!! Well, the light turned green and as he was peeling out I rode the clutch a little bit and by some miracle got it right and took off. I would say just from the launch I gained a car on him. Then after shifting through the gears up to fourth I gained another car and a half. The S2000's do around 14.1 in the quarter mile so I don't think it was too bad for my Evo 9 being it was the my first race launching the Evo. At the end of race I say I had about 3 lengths on him. I slowed down and he drove by we both gave a thumbs up to eachother.

I can't wait to get my ECU reflash from Vishnu. If you haven't been to their website in a while they have horsepower gains on a stock Evo with an ECU reflash. For the Evo 8 it's only 45 - 55 horsepower but for an Evo 9 it's 100 - 130 horsepower. I'm not sure why there is such a big difference when the only differences between the engine on the 8 & 9 is the bigger compressor housing and MIVEC. hmmm.

MIVEC = Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system

The dual-intake valve camshaft enables changing between low-speed and high-speed modes, resulting in easy operation from low to high rpms, improving the driving experience when starting from a stop light, merging onto the freeway, or accelerating to overtake another car. In the pursuit of pure driving enjoyment, potentially incompatible goals like fuel economy, environment-friendliness, and clean driving have all been achieved.

[Low-speed Mode]
The difference in the dual-intake valve lift (low lift and medium lift) and enhanced in-cylinder streaming further stabilize combustion without compromising fuel economy, emissions, and torque.

[High-speed Mode]
Extending the injection valve opening time and expanding the valve lift range increases intake air mass and achieves output close to best in class.

easy terms it is the Head on the EVO IX and it is not worth the cost to do a swap.

I went from having a 14.0 sec car stock to having a low 12 sec car and only spent $1050. So from 240AWHP stock to about 320ish maybe for $1050 (most guys spend alot more to get there)

ad the IX stock is a 12.89 sec car so add the tune and his other mods and say hello 11s posibly

Vishnu claims, after the flash adding 100 horsepower, my Evo IX should pull 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.3. That's pretty good for just exhuast, intake, and a reflash. They also add a passive boost control solenoid but I'm not sure what that is all about.
