I bought a 1998 Montero Sport LS 4 wheel drive with two tone dark green and grey paint today. It replaced my workhorse 1991 Mazda 323 (163,000 miles and the clutch finally went and was too expensive to replace when I was going to buy a new one by the end of the year so we just moved our purchase up a few months. Only other major repair to the Mazda was a new radiator). My lovely bride and I had the Mazda BC (before children) and needed something as well as her van that could haul two adults, three kids and all their stuff around. 4wd was also necessity because we are building a house next year on six acres well off the beaten path. I live just outside Bristol, VA and we get either two inches or two feet of snow. The two finalists were an Isuzu Trooper and the Montero Sport and the Montero Sport won out.

Now I just need a good mud pit to test out the four wheel drive.

Welcome to mitsu forum. Glad to have you. I know of places to go mudding, but illinois is a slight drive just to go mudding.
