I just put 2 pioneer 5 1/4'' speakers in the front doors of my 99 eclipse which was a pain in the ass because they didn't fit perfectly therefore the sound is'nt as good as it could be, does anyone know of any aftermarket speakers that will fit and sound good at the same time

Well...what size speakers do you need? Onlinecarstereo.com has just about every size imaginable. As for them sounding bad...that could be a lot of things. If they're not high end component speakers, distortion is usually a problem. Do you have a stock stereo or an aftermarket head unit? Either one can produce bad sound. Basically, they send the really low frequencies to all of the speakers, instead of just the subs, causing it to sound like crap when the bass hits. Eventually this will blow the speakers entirely. Best buy offers "bass blockers" but believe me, they're pieces of sh*t and still sound horrible. Get a head unit with a high pass filter, that way you can crank up the music with no distortion. Or just buy some nice components with crossovers. Top it off with dynamat and you shouldnt have any complaints.

Ok, I did some research and a 99 Eclipse needs 6 1/2 inch in the doors. There are so many types of speakers in this size it would be really hard for me to list every brand...JL Audio makes exceptional stuff, tho its a bit expensive. I have Kenwood Excelon and Infinity Reference 6 1/2 inch coaxials in my car and they sound great, the Excelons sound better than the infinitys tho...that and they've lasted alot longer, my infinitys were replacements for some Clarions that blew...then some Pioneers took their place and blew in a week. Now everythings working, then again, I have a high pass filter so my speakers don't really play any bass. I dont really recommend Sony speakers or subs, but they make really good head units....anyways, hope you find what you need.
