Unfortunately,the mechanic will typically only be able to swap it out,and see if the issue goes away.I suggest you find the ECM(Engine Control Module) and write down the number off of it,then run it on ebay,and see what you come up with.I originally figured that my ECM for my Talon would be a chunk of change,but i was pleasantly surprised....Im not sure,but the mitsubishi dealer might haave a diagnostic tool(kinda like GMs Tech II) that would pinpoint the problem.I personally hate taking anything to a dealership,but if youre limited in tools,and information...not to mention time,it might be the quickest route out,but not the cheapest....and concerning Auto Zone.......well I wont bother....[;)]
