IMO i dont really see the need for an MR. The differences are alittle better shocks, aluminum roof (lighter), and a 6-speed transmission.

the evo is my dream car i want one i have an eclipse now and im getting ready to graduate and join the military....... would i be better or not purchasing the MR? i mean $7K more and whats the diff?????
The MR is a waiste.

and John hw many times do I tell you the shocks in the MR are NOT better.  they are made for smoother ride and take slightly away from the handling.

The MRs 6 spd is slower in the 1\4 but faster in autoX the roof is only in place to make up for added weight from the tranny.

So $7k more for an extra gear, shocks that take away from handling (which you can always get some Eibachs) a heavier tranny, and i slower 1/4 mile time, and the aluminum roof...... for $7k i could get a turbo upgrade and new shocks.

Now my question is the IX or the SE????

id get an SE but that is just me they have better options and are more rare.

about the $7k for the MR.  look at it like this.   I have about $7k in my car\going into my car.  I have in it now about $1400 and another $5000 in parts about to go in now.  my car will be running 11 seconds making 400-430HP on pumpgas and cloe to 500 on race gas on top of that I have it lowered lol all for whaT I could have got an MR for

completely agree with Emonz and TheEngineer, MR is nothing but a bragging right that you have what Mitus conciders "top of the line" but it's really not, it's actually slower than the other models.  go w/ the IX or SE.   you can buy a wind difuser and have the same look.

another question.. if you go on mitsubishicars.com then go th build and price and select the IX it gives your some options one of them is the SE package which gives you eveything the special edition has and the option of blue or red which the SE isn't availible in......is this just a way for mitsu to make more money or would it be a good deal

i didnt think you could order new cars anymore. I think they stoped production on them and you can only get whats left at dealerships now.

The SE and special edition are the same.  the MR is different.  the SE has MR options but also a few colors MR was never availible in as well as some other minor options are avail in the SE.   I think SE you can get teh SSL pack and MR you cannot.   the SSL is more of a comfort of cruising package addes leather recaros a trunk mounted 10 in sub and a few other decorations
