hi i have a 2002 mitsubishi diamante and i have a radar detector plugged into it and now it wont work on either cigg plug ins the fuse is good and the detector works in my other car. any advice? thanks

So does what you wrote mean that it doesnt work with the cigarette lighter in either. My guess would just be bad wiring. take it out and check the voltage of the connection at the lighter. See if thats fine. If you have none then its a connection at the power.

no the lighter dosent work either. also when you first plug something into the second lighter it will come on for a second then cut off.

The contact is pushed back a little. Get a flat head screw driver and bend them back.

Check the voltage output on both terminals. Then if it shows nothing then try and get behind it to test the pos and neg wires directly... then at least if you get something out of that then you can just replace the little lighter housing thing.

if neither socket works, you DID blow a fuse.
there are far more fuses than just the ones inside the car, although those should be the ones to check.

One box is under the hood and one is in the drivers side of the car.
