Congratulations on your Evo 9. I would recommend the ACT performance clutch as a great replacement for the stock clutch. Many people recommend the Exedy and are usually referring to their Twin Disc Clutch for the Evo. This clutch is awesome if your willing to spend around $1800.00 without the labor involved. For the street I say Exedy is great but on the line of overkill.

will the act clutch hold some drag race or i have to go straight for the exedy single plate for street use and some drag race????

Ok thanks sebba one more question where i can buy the evo seats or what recaro model are they because my evo 9 rs have normal seats.

ACT will be fine. exedy is the top of the line but the difference is $1800 for a clutch versus $500. The ACT is a little harder to drive it takes some muscle thats all

I own a 06 Evo IX and i had to replace the clutch at 5,500 miles it started to slip bad and I drive cars like this for a part of my living. Although I may be biased since I work for them, I put a Fidanza 4.3 clutch in and their flywheel and it has been great so far. The problem with the stock clutches is heat. The entire design does not dissapate heat very well and in conjuction with the disc material is a recipe for crap in a performacne car. Also the pressure plate has three "fingers" that come down and engage, but when the material fails it then engages the flywheel. Basically the stockers are crap in a 250+ hp awd car. Cerametallic, sintered iron and carbon clutches work great, also aluminum flywheels help dissapate heat tremendously away from the disc. Any questions give me a shout at shawn@fidanza.com and i can help you out whether it is with our clutch, your stocker, whatever. I do it for a living and drive one too. Forums like this are great!
