So, my '03 has developed a pulsating brake problem. I know that I will need to turn the rotors or just replace them in order to fix the problem. However, I was wondering if this was a common problem on newer Mitsu's? The vehicle is driven pretty gently and is not used for towing. Either the original rotors are crappy or when I had my wheels rebalanced and rotated they overtorqued the lug nuts. Any input on this issue? Any recommendation on good aftermarket rotors?

I have heard alot about the warping of factory mitsu rotors. They basically suck in my opinion. Just spend the extra couple bucks and get yourself some decent brembo ones and you will never have the problem!

get them machined on the car.. removal for machining or replacing is ancient history.

Yes, the stock rotors are junk. I had mine turned under warranty at 4200 miles, again at 13,000 miles, 1 last time at 20k, then I replaced at 30k.

Really? Why?

because turning them on the car compensates for not only hub/axle/bearing wear and runout, but also puts a preloaded torque on the studs, putting them in their normally "stretched" position as though the rim was on.

I dont know any manufacturer that doesnt REQUIRE rotors to be machined on the car for warranty. If a mitsu dealer machines a rotor, the claim will be declined if not done on the car.

it cuts the potential future warping of that disc by about 75 percent.

Also after heavy breaking remember to get your foot off the pedal as the pads will act as an insulator and trap in heat while the rest of the rotor cools.
