None of these interiors are mine, but i notice that some evo's have a more rectangular space below the a/c switches that allow people to relocate the stereo. I have a angled opening (like the second pic) that's to small for the stereo. Is it just a difference in the year?

i cant see them being different. Are you sure they didnt just do custom work to get the radio to fit in there.

its just a kit that you buy... it is a conversion kit so you can have a gauge pod where the radio was

I was considering moving the a/c controls and converting to this type of head unit.

I like it. Its a nice clean conversion that keeps it looking almost stock
