qest -> RE: evo 9 or evo X (9/9/2006 9:57:00 PM)

Evo history? Well, in the US it was 9, 8, Galant VR4, Eclipse, Conquest TSi? I think the Evo is about getting a relatively inexpensive car to go REALLY fast using a turbo engine and AWD. The transmission isn't important to the legacy. I have a DSG in my current car and I adore it. It's faster than a manual, shifts when I want it to faster and cleaner than I can, is more efficient, and has an automatic mode for when I want to relax. Obviously, VWAG's implementation of DSG may be very different than what comes in the Evo X, but I suspect it'll be faster than the manual whatever it is. I think the X is going to be a BIG improvement over the 9. Unfortunately, my wife insists on the more-normal-sedan look of the 9 and won't have an automated clutch so I gotta get a 9 of some type before they become unavailable.
