My 96 GSX is approaching 120k and I was just wondering what I should do, like what parts I should buy, and all that. I'm doing all the stuff with the timing belt and water pump, and I was just wondering if there is anything else that I should get. I was just wondering also what that balance shaft remover does.

all the balance shaft does is make the engine a little more stable at idle, its not a neccessary part of the engine and if you can live with a rough idle then removing it will give you a little more power and torque cause its one less pully the engine has to turn. if ur gonna be doin a lot of work and wanna throw the money down also a new set of timing gears, underdrive pullys and maybe a new cam. or if you wanna go all out just overhaul the whole damn engine. ive also heard good things about powder coating the pistons, rods, intake manifold, etc......

I would suggest that when you do the timing belt, get a AEM cam gear put in and like 1398spdr suggests, pulley kits will help boost extra horsepower. Maybe check your suspension unless you have already changed it or lowered your car.
